A Bit of This, A Bit of That.

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. If you haven't heard the new Arcade Fire album, I've set up a temporary link, so you can download it. Please try not to tell all your friends and neighbours, as I don't want to have any trouble with my ISP. I also hope it goes without saying that you should buy this album immediately.

On my first listen through, I was apprehensive about whether I might not like it, but who am I kidding? It's the Arcade Fire. I love it to pieces and it was worth the wait. One song that jumps out as one of my favourites is My Body Is a Cage. Make sure you turn up the speakers and close your eyes, as it made for a wonderful ending to the album.

I've pulled a few of my favourite iFilm and YouTube links, for you to enjoy. They range from ridiculous to more ridiculous:

-My PC is for Porno - iFilm
-Debra Dickerson on 'Blackness' - iFilm
-George Takei Responds To Tim Hardway - iFilm
-Slingshot - YouTube
-Why I Got Fired From Apple Computer - YouTube
-Beatboxing Flute Inspector Gadget Remix - YouTube
-Is Anna Nicole Still Dead? - YouTube

Additionally, some links:

-Hacking My Child's Brain - Wired
-McCain says Roe v. Wade should be overturned - Associated Press
-Pandora Internet Radio - Pandora
-The quest for Autumn: Windows XP's elusive backdrop - Engadget

Links.

Snow!

It's a Christmas miracle, in February. We actually got a substantial load of snow and all of a sudden, life seems a bit better. Unfortunately, it's been so many years since we've had this much snow, that all my play-in-the-snow-stuff is at my parents' house. I'm just going to have to be a big boy and play in the snow anyway. It's also been awhile since I took any pictures, so today will be a picture day.

In other news, if you're a geek like I am, then you'll enjoy this Engadget tour of a Virgin America Airbus 320 and if you're lazy like I am, then you'll appreciate About.com, taking the time to tell you what the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report means, using concise language.

Last --but definitely not least-- The Arcade Fire is doing a proper North American tour and the following info is for those of us in the Northeast:

The Weekend

Well, another weekend down, another relationship down the drain. Yes, once again single, but as always things could be worse. On the bright side, I was able to come home and watch the 'big' game on the big television. It would figure that I'm finally able to enjoy a lovely picture and and American feed, only to have the commercials generally disappoint. To see for yourself, check out ifilm to take them in.

A nose plug is advisable.

Do you live in the northeast of the fine continent of North America? If so, your ass is freezing cold. I'm glad that it can still get cold up here (t-shirts in January was a bit odd), but I wouldn't mind some relief from the traditional Canadian winter and -30 to -40 temperatures.

I was at my parents' house this weekend and if you know my parents, then you'll know that they're Luddites. Anyway, I was walking by the family room, when I happened upon this oddity. I felt like I was in a dream, as I picked up a leather-bound computer(!?). It was as if Victorian 'sensibilities' had been transposed to the year 2001, when they okay'd this thing. I haven't a clue why my parents would be in possession of something like this and needless to say, I stole it.

So the latest update on the Arcade Fire album is that they charged my credit card and so I can only assume that the album is making it's way to me. Unless they've gone with FedEx bipedal ground, it will hopefully be here in the next week.
