The Hope Still Burns Brightly...

So Hillary Clinton snatched New Hampshire, out of the jaws of defeat, proving that she's not a lost cause. It will be interesting to see what happens when we more to some of the more heavily-populated black states to the south. I wonder if Mr. Obama has shown them that he can win and that it's actually okay to vote for him, or if this second-place finish will in any way hurt him.

Either way, Hillary was certainly the big winner in all this and when it comes down to it, what's most important is a democrat in the White House, right?

So, I know. I'm killing the links. Still this is a really excellent article that you should read and I make no apologies.

The Gates Keeper - Newsweek

Also, here's a follow-up to my comments on Josh Brolin, from No Country for Old Men and this one is a humorous peice by the IHT, concerning mindless use of GPS and the hillarity that ensues.

Lastly, I've been waiting for this film for some time, but not because Michael Cera or Jason Bateman are involved. No, it's because of the story and the performance by Nova Scotian, Ellen Page. The fact that the film is otherwise perfectly cast, is just more gravy. It's also directed by another Canadian - Jason Reitman, who gave us Thank You for Smoking and the story and screenplay are by the highly unsual, Diablo Cody, whose name is not only fake, but was also the name she went under, as a stripper, which she did for fun.

Why Not?

I decided to reactivate my Facebook account and give it another go. It's been about 9 months or so and I'm not really going to use it, but at least it's active again and pretty minimal. When I deactivated my account, I ended up deleting just about everything -including my profile, photo albums and the majority of my 'friends'- but I don't really need any of that, this time around. Being able to see others' photo albums, was the main motivation.

In other randomness, this, is an actual commercial.

Sooo, you might think I've been neglecting the old blog, but I've actually been doing you a favour, as life has been too boring to make the cut, even here, so count yourself lucky that I haven't posted anything.

I've been running a lot more and doing things outdoors, but now that it's hitting the 40's, it's time to take a break and retreat to the keyboard. I've also been working on making my room even harder to leave, so I recently decided to turn the most empty wall in my room, into a fabric wall. I thought it would be an interesting look, so I read up on it for a couple of weeks and then took the plunge and bought a bunch of wood and fasteners at the hardware store. A couple of weeks later, I've finished all the frames and now I'm left with deciding what fabrics to get. Hopefully I'll have a finished product to show you, a week from today...

I've also got a link hanging around here. It's about the dark lord, Dick Cheney and his role in shaping policy at the white house. It's an in-depth four part series, so click below to check out the first three installments.

Just a single link today. It's a bit of a read, but well worth the time.
